Yuan Stevens is a writer, researcher, and community organizer working at the intersections of law, technology (specifically artificial intelligence), media manipulation, and computer hacking. She holds a B.C.L./LL.B. from the Faculty of Law at McGill University and is a research assistant for online activism and hacker expert Professor Gabriella Coleman.
Committed to human rights both abroad and closer to home, she recently worked as a legal researcher for the European Center for Constitutional Rights as well as the Center for Internet & Human Rights in Berlin, Germany, and the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Head & Hands, an organization that offers inclusive, non-judgmental and holistic health, legal and social services to youth in Montreal. She is a classically trained pianist and is passionate about cats, the politics of technology, contemporary art, and languages.
