Grethell Rasúa

Grethell Rasúa (Havana, 1983) is a graduate from the Art of Conduct at Instituto Superior de Arte in Cuba, directed by the internationally renowned Cuban artist Tania Bruguera. The main artistic strategy of Rasúa is to infiltrate into different social mileus and interact with their inhabitants. Her earlier works criticizing the visual arts world demonstate her emerging voice as a social activist. As part of the 11th Biennial of Havana (2012), Rasúa designed and managed a shop where she offered to make and sell, jewelry, lingerie and quotidien textiles made from corporeal material (blood, semen, feces, nail clippings, dead skin, etc..) to anyone who placed an order.
