Semamap are visualisations of the relations between words inside texts. Following a technique called LSA Latent Semantics Analysis and using non commercial and open source softwares which assemble alternate semantic webbrowsers for querying content in a pool of texts. Glue scripts written in Python and SVG have been developed for Semamap V.0.1. In StudioXX one of this analysis will be performed and will render a cloud of related words to acces texts coming from DPI magazine #9. Semamap was first developed with the support of the euromovements network and redactiva.

Biography :: elpueblodechina (a.k.a. Alejandra Maria Perez Nunez)

Alejandra is a sound performer working with open source tools, circuit building and critical writing. She has taken part in collaborative projects dealing with psychogeography and social science fiction in Barcelona (www.redactiva.org et mapomatix.sourceforge.net), with collective writing and connected performance in Bruxelles (okno.be et www.constantvzw.com) and with music and performance with France based Spectral Investigations Collective. She is traveling, performing and giving workshops sometimes on her own, sometimes in partnership with artists, developers and art centers such as ydegoyon.free.fr, Zosen, nanofamas, Jo frgmnt Grys, picklefeet in Berlin, hangar.org in Barcelona, IMA in Vienna and studioxx in Montreal. She is a sound partner of d.R.e.g.S., bureau d’etudes, SIC and the Moscou Laptop Orchestra.

pueblo was born as a noiser in Chile and through her serpentine trajectory she is experimenting with sound, electronics, gesture, text, trying ways to make her practice conscious of society and history.
