Exhibition tour and digital arts workshops with Josée Brouillard

Participants

As part of the exhibition Brouillard : corps et lumière at the Maison de la culture de Verdun, and in collaboration with Grandir sans frontières and the Maison de la culture de Verdun, Studio XX invites teenagers and children of the Camp de jour Grandir sans frontières to discover the exhibition of Josée Brouillard. They are then invited to better understand the artist’s practice by attending digital art workshops.

DAY 1 – Guided tour and construction of light circuits

Tuesday, July 10, 2018, 10am to 12pm

Teenagers are invited to discover four works by Josée Brouillard. They have the opportunity to discuss the technical functioning of the works, the themes evoked, as well as to understand the process of creation and dissemination of a work, through the path and experience of the artist. The first prototype of one of the works was also created as part of a residency at Studio XX in 2014. The artist then gave a workshop on the construction of electronic light circuits, a fundamental tool in his practice.

DAY 2 – Guided tour and light tinkering

Thursday, July 19th, 2018, from 10h to 12h

Children are invited to discover four works by Josée Brouillard. They have the opportunity to discuss the technical functioning of the works, the themes evoked, as well as to understand the process of creation and dissemination of a work, through the path and experience of the artist. The first prototype of one of the works was also created as part of a residency at Studio XX in 2014. Participants are then invited to explore the phenomena of light propagation such as diffusion, reflection and refraction by creating their own bright diy.

The workshops are a revival of the Media Arts in Family and Light activity presented by Josée Brouillard at Studio XX in 2017.

This program is supported by the ministère de la Culture et des Communications and Communications of the City of Montreal as part of the Entente sur le développement culturel de Montréal
