DOPPLEREFFEKTDopplereffekt Live
Following six years of silence before their 2013 return to the music scene, Dopplereffekt make their triumphant return to the Canadian stage at Sight & Sound 2014! The most mythic and mysterious duo on the electro scene today will plunge us into one of their unique and atmospheric audiovisual performances, promising many surprises. The audience will experience an emotional journey through ice and fire, an abrasive hallucination, and even confront pressing issues in the contemporary world of physics. Industrial, new wave and electro-pop styles converge in an atonal, arhythmic, and highly experimental soundscape, freed from mainstream convention, venturing boldly into unexplored worlds. See you on the dance floor!

LE RÉVÉLATEUR – Extreme Events
Inspired by the performative tradition that combines electronic music and video art, in concert, Le Révélateur becomes an audio-visual duo composed of video artist Sabrina Ratté and electronic music composer Roger Tellier-Craig. Through the creation of abstract architectural structures and electronic landscapes, Ratté’s video images are in constant dialogue with the ethereal sounds and futuristic pulsations developed in Tellier-Craig’s compositions. Together, they aim to create an immersive audio-visual experience where sound and image are inseparable.

DAVID WIGHTMAN, JACOB CIOCCI – EXTREME ANIMALS
Extreme Animals is a performance group composed of Jacob Ciocci and David Wightman. Since 2002, they have performed within a variety of musical and performative contexts (museums, basements, galleries and bars), exploring the delicate relationship between popular musical forms and experimental forms, between dance music and noise, or between the improvised and the composed. Often employing video projections and low budget props, their live performances are high-energy deconstructions of contemporary or recently forgotten musical and visual vernaculars.

MÉLISSA GAGNÉ (BABI AUDI) – Sochi Snow Club Dead
SOCHI SNOW CLUB DEAD is a dramatized business meeting. The scene: an elite, reserved room. Business ideas for a concept restaurant are being thrown around. A young woman serves finger food. Ambition and the VIP dream are in the air. The audiovisual composition of the piece forces the viewer to interpret sounds, images and words bit by bit, as fragments reveal their connections and form a larger picture. Each element is presented individually from the others; a scathing performance inspired by bad taste and desperation. This performance is presented in partnership with Studio XX.
